CBKA TRAILER-STALL  (Being updated)

Picture shows our old set up, these were taken some time ago at Thriplow daffodil weekend

Since 1995 Cambridgeshire Beekeepers’ Association has used the trailer-stall illustrated at events at which beekeeping can be promoted. The Association was extremely fortunate in locating a second-hand, twin-axle, commercial display and exhibition trailer with lifting side flaps and opening back doors for conversion to a trailer-stall.

A counter, which folds out after the side flap is raised, was constructed and a highly weatherproof stall was thus created. This practical and easy-to-operate trailer-stall also houses and transports beekeeping exhibition materials. The trailer, complimented with a gazebo, has enabled the Association to actively promote beekeeping both earlier and later in the season, to create displays of greater interest and to display for sale a wide range of hive products.

CBKA tries to go to events that will be well attended by the public, in order to emphasise the importance of honeybees, to dispel the fears of adults and to stimulate the interest of children in beekeeping for the future. We are invited to events at a wide variety of venues and average about 30 days a year; this provides many opportunities for members to meet and work together. The presence of the Association stall at events raises the profile of CBKA. This method of promoting beekeeping has proved highly successful and has enabled the Association to promote the Beginners Courses and bring new beekeepers into the craft to replace those retiring.
